Beacon lights are used to help identify an airport and the type of airport at night.
The beacons are operated from dusk until dawn, but may also be operated during the day if the weather is below VFR minimums.
VFR minimum – Cloud ceiling is less than 1,000 feet AGL and visibility is less than 3 statute miles.
