STROKES OF THE ENGINE


Small aircraft spark ignition four stroke engines are the most common found.

The four stroke operating cycle is:

  1. Intake – Fuel/air mixture enters the cylinder.

  2. Compression –Piston moves up compressing the Fuel/air mixture.

  3. Power (combustion) - Fuel/air mixture combustion from the spark plug firing.

  4. Exhaust - burnt gases exiting the cylinder.



Remember:
