One of the steps towards earning your pilot certificate is passing the Knowledge Test. There are several methods that exist to help you obtain the knowledge for this exam. One is using our online course, or a formal 1-on-1 ground school setting with the instructor.

 

There are benefits to each, but you should select the best method for your particular learning style. If you enjoy a 1-on-1 setting with the opportunity to engage in lively discussion, then our 1-on-1 ground school may be right for you.

  • Upon meeting the ground school requirements and successful completion of the course, you will receive an endorsement to complete the knowledge test.

COURSE INFORMATION

What we offer for our 1-on-1 courses:

  • Private Pilot Ground School (Part 61) - $70 hour

(This course is typically 9-weeks long, with three stage check tests.)

  • Flight Review (Ground Only) - $60 hour

(A minimum of 1 hour course required by the FAA, no test required.)

NOTE: To take the 1-on-1 ground course you must be within the local area, of approx. 50-mile radius of the French Valley Airport (F70) in Murrieta, CA.

Private Pilot Course Only not required for Flight Review)

  • Homework: The instructor will assign required reading and assignments prior to each class to ensure familiarization of material and a building block style of learning.

  • Course Completion: Students will gain the knowledge required for the Private Pilot Knowledge Exam as prescribed in 14 CFR Part 61.103 has been met. The minimum passing grade is 70% for the FAA knowledge test.

Additional materials you will need include:

  • Navigation Sectional Chart

  • Navigation Plotter

  • E6B Flight Computer

  • FAA Pilot's Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge (PHAK)

  • Current FAR/AIM

  • These materials can be purchased online or at a local pilot shop.
